What do you do at Colgate?

As Marketing Director in Puerto Rico, I lead a team of 19 people. We're responsible for the marketing strategy, planning and direction of our brand portfolio. My team, in conjunction with Manufacturing, Finance and Sales, coordinates the implementation of new products, consumer and trade promotions as well as all other activities that are part of our brand marketing plans. We're also responsible for media planning.

What do you like most about working at Colgate?

I like the opportunity to work on international assignments in different subsidiaries. This enables you to work with many different people on different projects and business needs. It's a challenging and very enriching experience, and I wouldn't settle for anything less than that.

Colgate is also a pleasant and friendly place to work. Here, one can both learn and contribute to the success of the Company. It is a very dynamic environment where you truly feel part of a team that shares the goal of becoming "the best".

What have been your most exciting projects or opportunities?

I spent three years in Brazil working as a Category Manager at Kolynos, a company Colgate acquired in 1994. We developed and created the launch plan for the new dental cream brand, Sorriso (which means "Smile" in Portuguese). It was a monumental team effort across all functional areas that involved people both locally and in New York.

In 1999, as Marketing Director in Morocco, I had the opportunity to work in a multifunctional team to re-launch Colgate dental cream. We were responsible for developing a comprehensive business plan that covered packaging development to coordination of all consumer and trade activities. This project was a great learning experience for me. The team won a global "You Can Make a Difference" award - Colgate's program for recognizing and rewarding great ideas and initiatives.

If you're hard working, flexible and open-minded, have a positive attitude and a commitment to excellence, you're going to be successful in this company. There's no doubt about it.
